Formbricks
Open-source experience-management platform for targeted in-app and link surveys.
Last commit 2026-06-01
Formbricks is an open-source experience-management platform that takes a different cut at the survey problem than most form builders. Rather than focusing on standalone surveys linked by URL, its primary surface is in-product micro-surveys: lightweight questions that appear inside a web application, triggered by user events such as completing a feature, hitting an error, or crossing a usage threshold. A JavaScript SDK for React, Vue, and vanilla JS lets engineering teams embed these triggers without a full backend round-trip.
The link survey mode covers traditional distribution — a public URL you can email, post, or embed as a QR code — and the two modes share the same template library. Pre-built templates cover NPS, CSAT, product-market fit measurement, feature prioritization, and churn reason collection, which gets a team from zero to running a structured feedback program in under an hour.
The project is AGPL-3.0 licensed and can be self-hosted via Docker. On a self-hosted deployment there are no response caps, no seat limits, and no data flowing to Formbricks' servers — the entire response dataset stays inside your own infrastructure. Formbricks Cloud, the managed offering, provides the same feature set without the operational overhead and has a free tier with a response allowance. Paid cloud plans start at $30/month and unlock higher response volumes, team seats, and white-label options. The main limitation of the AGPL license is that commercial modifications to the server code must be open-sourced if distributed, which matters for agencies building on top of the platform.
